What you can't list on Pet Event
Pet Event is for safe, fun, dog-friendly events. To keep it that way, we check every listing before it goes live. These are the things we can't list.
Selling animals
No puppies, kittens or other pets for sale, no deposits to reserve one, no "meet the litter" and no adverts for breeders. Registered rehoming charities can list adoption days: add your charity number.
Young puppies as the attraction
Puppy yoga, puppy Pilates, cuddle sessions and similar events need a council licence for animal exhibitions. Add the licence number to your listing. The puppies must be over 8 weeks old.
Fighting, baiting or betting
Nothing that involves animal fights, baiting, hare coursing or betting on animal contests, or that promotes them.
Banned or restricted dogs
No selling, giving away or breeding XL Bully type dogs or other banned types. At dog-friendly events, exempt dogs must be muzzled and on a lead.
Licensed activities without a licence
Animal exhibitions, dog day care and boarding need a council licence. Add the licence number to the listing.
Unsafe events
Dogs need water and shade, enough space and kind handling. No shock or prong collars, no painful training methods and no overcrowding.
Misleading health claims
No promises that a product, treatment or activity cures or prevents illness, and no dosing advice.
Scams and paying elsewhere
Only real events, with the real date, venue and price. People book through Pet Event or the booking link in your listing, never by bank transfer, gift cards, crypto or a payment app to someone's personal account. No reselling tickets above face value.
Raffles and prize draws
No raffles, prize draws or cash-prize contests sold as tickets.
Adult or sexual content
No nudity, sexual content or sexual services, in listings or photos.
Harm to children
Nothing that sexualises children or puts them at risk. We report it to the authorities.
Hate, harassment and violence
No hate, harassment, threats or violence, and nothing that supports terrorism.
Weapons, drugs and illegal goods
No selling or promoting weapons, illegal drugs or other illegal goods.
Other people's details and work
No one else's personal details, and no photos or text you don't have permission to use.
Anything else illegal
Nothing that breaks UK law.
Good practice
Keep phone numbers, email addresses and other websites out of the description: the booking link and your host page are where people find you.
Use your own photos of the event, the venue or the dogs.
Keep the details up to date. Changes go live once we've checked them.
If a listing breaks these rules we won't publish it, or we'll take it down, and we may suspend the host account. We'll tell you why, unless the law or someone's safety stops us. If you think we got it wrong, reply to our email and we'll look again within 2 working days. We report suspected child sexual abuse to NCMEC, which passes UK reports to the National Crime Agency, and other crimes to the police.
